I live alone with my Danny and I find that whenever I leave the apartment, I always tell him where I am going and when I expect to be back. I don't know what I expect him to do with this information, but I feel guilty if I don't.
Does anyone else do this?

Yeah, I do that because they give me the most guilt-inducing looks ever when I leave the apartment.

Almost always! I never missed with the old boy, but with these girls, they're not always around me. They have each other for company and go off to play. I still always yell "Bye, kids!", though.

I don't tell them where I'm going, but I do say "Bye guys, I'll be back later..." or "I'll be right back." When I have to kennel the dogs I tell them "I'm sorry, it will just be for a little while"...like they understand. I guess it makes me feel better...

I say goodbye to Chasey, but she doesn't usually reply.

I never bother to tell Twitch or Ophelia...it's like they just don't hear me!

I always go find Lily before I leave to tell her, though.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
I give them all kisses and tell them I love them and that I'll be back later. then I tell them that I have to go make money so I can buy them cat food, litter and spoils!
I do that more so I know that they are all in the house and not on the porch like the one time I accidently left Luna out there thinking she had come inside.
Poor thing was out there for hours until Brad came home. I felt horrible and spoiled her for days!

I won't leave the house without letting Abby know I am leaving and saying goodbye.

Ditto. I find both of mine and say goodbye before I leave--I am almost embarrassed to say this, but I even do it when I'm just running out to the store and am going to be back in 10 minutes.
Part of it is just that I want to see where everybody is before I leave and make sure they are okay, and part of it is...I just feel like I should say goodbye. I mean, if they were kids, I wouldn't walk out of the apartment without saying something. (I wouldn't say that last thing about kids in mixed company, so to speak, but I know I can say that sort of thing here without people thinking I'm a nutcake...

in a pile of open toed shoes!
she cares when I leave, and follows me right to the door, then puts on her big big big eyes that I love so much, and I tell her "mommy has to go to work, I'll be back later, I love you, be a good girl" either way my house is always a mess by the time I come home...

I always say, "Be good" (they almost always are) and "I love you, babies."
