Hello,

I have a 2 year old norweigin forest cat (neutered male). Yesterday I was playing with him in the basement, holding him up in the air like always when the central air kicked on and the cat totally freaked out biting and clawing. I had to get a tentinus booster and some antibiotics for my huge finger.
Now "Worm" is petrified of the basement I have tried to get him to come down for moist food but he won't come past the first turn on the stairs, normally he would do anything for food. I had to move the litter box upstairs yesterday and I put it half-way down the stairs today. Now he jumps at every little noise (I've been leaving the tv on because it seems to help) upstairs and doesn't want outside anymore, doesn't want to play, and wants little affection (but he's getting a little better).
We have had him since he was way too small because he was an orphan and have not had a single incident of any kind with him and until yesterday he thought he was king of the jungle.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't think you should make him go down there. Give him time, he'll come around.
