Hi There. I'm new to this forum and to the feline lifestyle
I just got Emmit 2 days ago. An acquaintence had got the kitten and realized her landlord wouldn't allow pets, SO...I'm now the proud owner of this dude;

I think he's so small still, I'm feeding him the "mother's milk" from petsmart and also Iams Kitten. He started purring last night while we were getting ready for bed and he's VERY active. I'm still new to this so I would appreciate any pointers that maybe are normally overlooked.

P.S. His Vet appt is the 15th.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!!
I did need some advice. I'm a young single girl living in a small apartment here in California. Like I mentioned earlier I just got my kitten from a friend who needed to get rid of it
I have a full time job and it keeps me away from the house from 730-530. I know 2 kittens would not be an option right now. Will he be okay? I mean, he's probably going to be very lonely considering I'm gone during the day and he's gonna be an inside cat. Help...how can I make it better? He seems to be in good spirits when I come home but...I don't see myself moving into a bigger place for another year...HELP!

Welcome to you and Emmit
He is absolutely adorable!

I understand your worry about Emmit being home alone during the day. When Dori was a kitten I was away from the house from 7:30-5:30 each day, and twice a week I had class and didn't get home until 9:30. In the beginning I made special effort to go home at lunch time to check on her. She seemed to do just fine though. I think she slept a majority of the day, but I made sure she had access to the windows to look out, and had a few toys to play with while I was gone as well. I spent time playing with her each evening when I got home as well. It is important to "kitty proof" the place. Just sit down on the floor of each room and look around at all of the things Emmit could be in trouble with. Some examples are: small strings lying around, blind cords (tie them up out of Emmit's reach), and things of that nature. Emmit will soon adjust to your schedule and will be just fine
