So after moving to a brand new house and moving my cat Annabelle out to the screened in porch, I am finally starting to feel better about the arrangement. I posted before about having to move her from an indoor kitty to a screened in porch kitty b/c of my fiance's horrible allergies. She has been doing well so far, but still occasionally moews at our kitchen door. I didnt want to confine her to one room for the rest of her kitty years, so slowly we have been trying to put a harness on her so that we could start taking her for walks. For the past two years, she just freezes and topples over when we put it on her. Then the other day we put it on and carried her outside and put her on the pavement. I guess her curiousity got the best of her because she started walking around. She was a little leary of grass at first but now loves to explore the whole back yard (while leashed of course). So everyday we take her on walks now. We are working up to the front yard and getting closer every day. Yesterday she started jumping and chasing things while leashed. She now has been meowing to go for walks. I was talking to a friend the other day while taking Annabelle on a walk and I told her "ya know, I think my cat may be smarter than yours". We got a good laugh over that. I guess I am just a proud mamma right not!

I've noticed many people on here with cats named Annabelle. My 3 year old human daughter's name is Annabelle Leigh (like the Poe poem, but we changed the spelling). I think I need to get her a leash.

That's so funny about her freezing and falling over. My vet tech uses the harness to clip her cat's toenails because that's what he does! LOL

My mom did too - it kept me from running out of the yard. Nowadays, though, that'd be considered child abuse!
