The stray that lives on our porch had kittens about 9 weeks ago. They were all healthy and perfect and we found them all homes. But now sine we took them she retaliated and stole a one day old kitten from some poor mother cat. I've gone all around my street asking if anyone knows of a recently born litter, but no one does. So now that she has this poor little guy she just dumped him on the porch and won't take care of him. Does anyone know what I should feed him?? He's trying like crazy to milk my fingers. I'm terrified he's going to starve to death. So help me anyone who knows anything. Just a side note, I would notify my local SPCA but they would just put him down without a chance, they're not the most humane.

I am right there with you! I have a two day old kitten. You need to get your kitten WARM ASAP! Heating pad, towels just out of the dryer, next to your body, whatever. Most pet stores will carry some form of kitten milk and bottles. Your vet might also be able to help.
You can email me for my cell #, I am now up every 3 hours so if I can be of any help. [email protected]
Please keep us updated!

Well I've been holding him close to my chest since I picked him up an he's so little that my hand keeps him covered. He feels very warm. How soon should I feed him. I have no transportation to get formula asap. I won't be able to until at least 5. (it's 2:40 here) Will he (or she) be alright? Should I give him some water??

Can you make kitten glop:

Home-made kitten formula (Kitten Glop)
8 ounces water (boiled then cooled)
1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatin
8 ounces whole evaporated milk (not skim)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (not low fat)
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (not low fat)
1 large or 2 small eggs yolks (raw)
1 teaspoon clear Karo syrup
* 1-3 drops liquid pet vitamins
* 1 capsule acidophilus
* 1 drop Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)
* Optional, though very beneficial.

Also...the stray mom needs to be trapped and fixed or she will simply become pregnant again. Best thing to do is to try to borrow a trap from your local humane society...below is a list of low cost spay/neuter clinics:

In a pinch you can feed cow's milk, but it has to be diluted down. It will not sustain him long, he needs feeding every three hours, plus stimulation to move the food through his system. It is possible your momcat found him abandoned and he doesn't technically belong to anyone.

Where are you located?

Karo syrup if you have some, just a drop. You can also make kitten pedialtye using home ingredients as follows:
Home-made Pedialyte

* 1 cup water (boiled then cooled)
* Small pinch of baking soda
* Small pinch of Salt
* 2 teaspoons of sugar

Use a dropper if you have one to get the liquid in.

Thank you everyone for the help... I think (hope) once we get some food in him he'll be alright. I'll be sure to update with his weight and such!

Sending lots of vibes to the little guy

She probably took it from another stray...not that that matters now...
