i have 4 kittens who are 8 weeks old next wednesday. i had planned on keeping all four. however a friend of mine, who is also a very good cat home, lost an elderly cat just before xmas and has shown an intrest in one of my females.
so i have agreed for her to have her.

she actually only lives 3 doors up from me.
i said she could take the kitten at 8 weeks , becasue they are doing very well, and are fully weaned and litter trained.
however what i was wondering is, wont molly be upset looking for the missing kitten?

Yes, the mom will most likely be upset at first, but after all the kittens are gone she will settle herself back down again. When I got my kitten, the mama cried and cried, as well for the next kitten to come with us. It has to happen sometime, and although it will be sad at first, mama kitty will be ok.
Congratulations on placing a kitten- if the soon-to-be owner lives only 3 doors up, then you'll pobably get to see her groeing up! How nice that will be!

If she can stay with her mom until she is 10 weeks..that would be a little better. I would still plan to have all the kittens fixed at the earliest availability.

no vet will spey earlier than 5 months in the uk as far as i am aware.

the 3 kittens i am keeping will be fixed at 5 months and the home my kitten is going to already has 4 cats, 4 speyed females they have had since kittens!
they will be speying there kitten as well.

the kittens are more or less of mother now anyhow, becasue we are waiting for her milk to dry up so she can be speyed.
