**Mom can be spayed once the kittens are completely weaned and some clinics will provide spaying/neutering of kittens as young as 8 weeks of age.**

and if you live in Florida, Illinois, Indiana or Ohio there is the "Neuter Scooter" here is the website for that

and they say they do kittens as young as 6 weeks!
