Angel had her first kitten at midnight and two followed shortly after! She went into labor around 2 PM yesterday therefore when her heavy contractions started, she would not leave my sight! I stayed with her in bedroom trying to encourage her to go in her box, but she refused! Finally I sat in the bathroom and she made her nest between my legs and gave birth right then and there! I thought that was so neat to experience!
She has three healthy babies! two black and white that look almost exactly like Angel and one grey kitten with a white diamond on her forehead.

Congrats on a smooth and easy delivery. Just remember to keep her well away from any access to the outside until she is no longer lactating and you can arrange for her to be spayed.

Also, if you haven't already, now would be a good time to begin feeding her a diet of high-quality canned and dry in the kitten food varieties. She will need the extra calories to provide adequate nutrition to her kittens.

Post pics when you can, but remember that you shouldn't use a direct flash -- if you have to use a flash at all, cover it with a couple of thicknesses of toilet tissue taped around the edges so as to diffuse the light out of delicate little eyes. Even though they are not open yet, the light from a flash is extremely bright and harsh -- it could cause damage.

Perhaps I should clarify what I said in my other post ...

Even though they (meaning the eyes of the kittens) are not open yet, the light from a flash is extremely bright and harsh -- it could cause damage.

I have pictures of the sweet little babies and Angel. When I find my camra cord, I will download the pictures and put them up for you guys to see.

I took her to the vet yesterday, BIG mistake. I brought the kittens in the crate with her thinking she will do better with the kittens than without. I was SO wrong, she went crazy. I told the vet techs I need to reschedule the apt because waiting in the lodge with two dogs barking and people talking, it was getting too much for Angel. I felt SO bad! They quickly found a room for me, Angel did a whole let better when everything was quiet.

Anyway, the vet said everything looks fine, she's low in calcium, therefore she is getting a special doc's order for yogert. lol she sure a spoiled kitten!
