Can you get a PM from someone in the ignore list?

There is someone from my old cat forum with whom I do not wish to ever have contact again.

Can I block the person from sending me PMs by adding the person to my ignore list? Or is it simply not possible?

How about simply ignoring and deleting any PMs you get from them?
