I'm not sure where to post this. I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere in Ontario where I could get my cat spayed for cheap. I live near London so it would have to be in that area. I have been searching and can't find anything.

I live in London, and my vet is Dr. Choong at the Blue Cross animal hospital. He is an awesome vet. I'm not sure how low cost your thinking, but I don't think you can get less than $140 anywhere around here.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I used to live in Belleville and they had a place that would do it for like $50, thats the type of place I was hoping to find but I don't think there is any.

Try calling your Humane Society or SPCA. In Montreal one of the colleges does low cost once a month, the vet comes from her regular pratice to do the clinics so you might try that if you have colleges near-by.

I would just call around to all the vets too, you' be surprised how their prices differ. Some will be like $100, and some will be $200.

Check with the Humane Society or London city hall. I know that in Toronto the city has an Animal Services dept that operates spay/neuter clinics. There, the cost to spay is $89. However, the waiting list is obscenely long and because of that, I must take Sadie to her regular vet and pay approximately $250.00 instead! Also, if I were you, I'd call around for prices. In my neighborhood the price ranged from $160 (but they don't do pre-op bloodwork or send pain medication home) to $500. Note, the $500 vet didn't appreciate it when I questioned their high prices. They said "but our facility is really, really nice." My reply - "that's nice, but do you really think Sadie is going to care about getting operated on at the Taj Mahal - particularly when she's going to be knocked out?"
