When would/should i see Ice start to " show" ? She is about 4-5 weeks since her last heat. she is getting really big in the belly, taunt too. you can tell the diff in her belly from last week to this. also, what size birthing box should i use? i was thinkin the size (width and length) of a TV box, height maybe 12-16 inches high?

Hi Liza---- think it depends partly on how many kittens on when they show. And size to begin with. I think Angel only has a couple and she is about 5 1/2 weeks and is just not really "showing" and getting some rounded sides but she still isn't BIG. I noticed around when she was 4 weeks she got bigger since she was thin to begin with she just filled out some, now her sides are rounding a bit but still not really sticking out, but each day lately she seems a tad bigger. But think around 35 days they say they start to show.

not sure on box size something mom has room to move in but is small enough there isn't too much space........ and mom can get in and out of easy enough but kittens can't climb out of...... others may have a better idea on size.

I started to notice Cloe about the first week of May. She is due anytime. I think she might have 5 or 6 babies in there because she is pretty big.

Cats.
Regardless of the amount of kittens, the cat should start to "show" as of the 6 weeks into the pregnancy. This is the stage where the babies are in "Alpha stage" which means they are 90% complete and start to grow...

I only said depending on litter size because I KNOW skittles was showing around 3-4 weeks but she had 13 in there. Angel I think only has a couple and is 5 1/2 weeks and is just barely starting to show, I notice but most people wouldn't notice.....

Liza....I think your question has been answered...but I would encourage you to keep any intact cats indoors only until they are spayed. If Ice isn't pregnant, we would not want her to become pregnant.

Prue has had date for spay next month.( only cause thats as soon as i could get her into the free clinic)

I would probably be a good idea to shut all the windows for now until both cats are fixed....I wouldn't want Prue getting out prior to her spay appt.

I would, but having NO AC,, and living in a single wide trailer till fall, having all the windows shut is not a option. i tried that, but it go to 97 degrees in the house. i am doing the best i can at the moment. In july i will be of $$ backing to do as i want, so if i had to keep any of Icis kittens, i can, but as of now, whatever she has is spoken for.

Understood...but we want to ensure that this is her only litter. I would also encourage you to follow up to make sure that any kittens are spayed/neutered.
