DeeDee Ramone of the classic punk band The Ramones was found dead this morning. The suspected cause of death is a drug overdose.

The Ramones weren't the most talented musicians (none of them knew how to play more than about 3 chords), and even started their band as a joke. But they had some great songs and were forerunners of American Punk Rock.

I was really sad to hear this news. First Joey, and now DeeDee. How sad...

I just read the news on CNN. They were always a fun band to listen to, and we would often play them in the afternoon at my last job, to get everyone going. Another loss for the music world.

I'm with you there. I saw them in concert about 8 years ago but I started listening to them 15 years ago. I feel they they are part of my what my partner calls my "formative years" It's a loss. Maybe I'll rent rock n' roll high school.

Terrible sad news - since I heard I've been having "Gina is a punk rocker" running around my brain.

Or even "Sheena is a punk rocker"
