For me a lot of States have antiquated marriage laws. Some states even allow minors to marry I would think streamlining the process and having centralized laws would actually decrease governmental interference.
It bothers me that each state has different laws and people who would normally not be allowed to get married in a certain state (I meant minors, not gays) would simply travel across the state line to get married.
It is a huge beaucracy headache for the government as well.
Speaking of beaucracy, why do I have to go to so many governmental agencies to get my name changed after marriage? Shouldn't there be a centralized name change agency?
