I love cats, and have one. The neighbor's cats who come by and spray all over my house so that opening the back door blows catpee stench into my kitchen and opening the front wafts pee stench into my livingroom, not so much. Part of why I got my cat fixed was so I wouldn't have to hear a lot of yowling.
Thanks to my neighbor, I hear more howling, shrieking tomcat fights each spring than I care to. I've spoken to her about her clowder of unfixed outdoor males, and she thinks that they do not need to be fixed because they can't have kittens.
Not condoning this guy's actions, but I can understand his point of view. If I could take them to get fixed or to a new home where they aren't loose to yowl and fight under my window at way-too-early-for-that-o-clock, I'd be all over the opportunity sometimes. I know it's not their fault, but they can get very aggravating when I'm trying to sleep after a long day at work, and there's nothing I dislike more than being punished for the irresponsibility of others.
