Last night we had these lightening storms in Philadelphia. I have to admit it was kinda scary. And it made me think as I was looking out my bedroom window... The entire sky was lit up like fireworks kept going off, at no point did it go dark. And with the woods behind my house it reminded me of the movie ET, the part that scared me as a litle girl.... anyway, when I went to bed last night Lucky was in the window, eyes wide as quarters, watching outside. I tried to coax her out of the window, but she was glued, so I went to bed. And this morning she was extra affectionate. Like she didn't want me to leave for work. I woke and she was against my leg, and she followed me (as usual) through the house, but she kept jumping up on my lap everytime I sat down... instead of eating breakfast. She was so lovey and cuddly and clingy... I think she was really afraid from the lightening.

Is this the norm? Does anyone else have a scaredy cat when it comes to lightening? I mean, it wasn't thunder... it was just a little creepy to see the woods all lit up like that...

I've had some cats that are so scared of thunderstorms that they hide in the basement...guess it all depends on their personality.

Maggie May hides in the closet whenever we have a storm. She was there last night when we had thunder & lightning.

My dogs are scared of thunder storms but my cats seem to not have any problems. A matter of fact, my Jasmine sometimes goes outside and I have to call for her. She comes back all wet but never seems scared. My brave little kitties.

Most of the cats run under the bed when it storms loudly (i.e. big cracks of thunder).

Whitey is the only one that will brave it. Of course, there isn't a whole lot that phases him though.

That's how my Tiggy is............terribly afraid of thunder.....in fact, when it starts raining and hitting the awning over the deck, he takes off!
My tough little guy. He isn't afraid of the vacuum though!
