I haven't had a kitten since I was little, and then my mom took care of them, lol.

I adopted a kitten who is now 8 weeks old. She has been playful since day one. We've had her for almost 2 weeks.

Yesterday, my cousin came over and dropped off an air conditioner that was in his garage for a while, he also has 2 Westies. She smelled the box, and seemed very interested, but was just normal, so I'm not sure it has anything to do with this. All of a sudden last night, she started jumping up the walls behind the bedroom door and the bathroom door, and racing around like nuts.
She is usually rambunctious, but this was like she had a dose of catnip, but I have none in the house. I'm not worried, I just wondered if this was normal to go crazy wild sometimes? and if maybe the smells from that box might have precitipated the behavior?

I LOVE this sight btw. I've already learned A LOT! One thing is to make sure no rubber band are lying around. I would have never even thought of that had I not read another thread about it.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that's what it was

It's fun to watch, but I didn't want it to be a bad thing either.

My son said the other night "It's better than popping corn, it's popping kittens". It's so true, they race around like maniacs jumping at each other and then run off like crazy cats. I have 10 kittens right now and my living room is alive every night. They wear us out
My 1 yr olds cats still do it too. I have a spot on the back of one of my chairs where they jump and spin around.

Yes, but don't expect it to ever go away. It may lessen with time, but my 2 year old kitties still get absolutely crazy sometimes...bouncing off the furniture. Then the dog will try to join in, and the cats all sit down and stare at her, as if she is possessed. "Why would anyone want to play with someone as big and smelly as you?"

Get some of the wand toys with a long strip of fabric attached...you can get some wild play going pretty quick! And keep the catnip away from the kitten...that is for the grown-ups only
.

Ohhh how funny about the dog

I sure hope she stays playful. My mom is home all day, in a wheel chair, and already loves spending hours playing with her, so I think that will keep her active.(both the kitty and my mom!) Thanks for the note about the catnip, I was wondering about that.

I agree - Harley is ALWAYS getting crazy like that - and he'll be 1 this month!
I don't think it ever goes away!

Oh my goodness how FUNNY!!! When Nat (for Nat King Cole, when we thought she was a boy, so now she is Natalie Cole, lol) starts to play, she'll stand up on her two back paws and we call her Gentle Ben, although, it's not always gentle, lolol.

If you check my siggy here I say enjoying the pitter patter of kitty feet.

My kittens are still young. Pearl is a month younger than Pandora, but they both are playful but sweet.

When they get super playful we call them "Spaz-ta-cats"

Enjoy the playfulness.

Kitty has a few crazy attacks every now and then. its funny cuz we'll be sitting in one room and she will dart up the stairs, then back down then thru the kitchen and back into the living room and sit really still then do it again.
kitties are funny!

My kittens keep jumping in the toilet.

I have no clue on that one. They have water, but late at night, we'll hear a *splash* and then a kitty will come out soaked (though it never ceases to amaze me how quickly their tongues dry them off)

LOL, they have a private swimming pool!

I keep the lid closed, just in case. In fact, I'm so in the habit now that I close toilet lids wherever I go!
