Ok, so this is a constant argument with me and Maxey.

I like the window and door open at night when I sleep - the fact that it is only 1 or 2 degrees at night at the moment is fine because I just snuggle up with him and my doona and the kitters. I like fresh air when I sleep. It's not open wide - just enough for the kits to get in and out and to let me feel like there's some air moving.

He, however, likes the window and door closed tight. He's got a shaved head so that's fair enough - he gets really cold
- but I feel sooooo claustrophic!

So we've compromised - kind of. When the window's open the door is closed, when the window's closed the door is open. It'll never be resolved to both of our satisfaction so it's been partially resolved to both of our partial dissatisfaction!!

What do you prefer??

I definitely agree with you about the fresh air and on all but the muggiests of nights, I crack the window just enough to have a nice fresh breeze in the bedroom!
The door remains locked at night, though.

I think she meant the bedroom door

I am a really cold person, but i do like to have the window open for fresh air.
I bought a special blanket that warms you up in winter but keeps you cool in summer, you just have to get the right doona covers to go with it.

I had the same problem with my ex
HE HAD TO HAVE ALL WINDOWS OPEN! but luckly he was like a bear and kept me warm!
Never really needed heating to be honest!

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
We hardly ever open our windows because of the cats. We used to sleep with the window open though in the old days if it was hot. We also used to shut the door but now its open for tweedle dum and tweedle dee to get in and out. Unless Nismo is being crazy, then they both have to be shut out.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
I sleep with the fan on all year round. The door doesn't bother me either way, hubby doesn't like the fan blowing right on him, so I keep it blowing right on me. I need the circulation and the cool breeze, I like to snuggle under the covers!!!

ohmy its FREEZING - you gotta CLOSE the window

we have a similar disagreement here in that Chris likes pitch black at night, so much that he has a t-shirt over his alarm clock so he cant see the glow.

I like to wake up to the sun.

Don't even get me started! This has been a disagreement between B and I since it started getting warmer out.

First off, we don't have air conditioning, and both Sunday and Monday were HOT I had all the windows opened and we had some fans going.

Monday evening rolls around and he starts closing all the windows. His theory, we're just letting hot air into the house. Yesterday I can understand...it started to rain here. But then last night I cracked the bathroom window open. Once the rain was gone there was a cool breeze. NOPE! NO fresh air is coming into our house this summer. So I get yelled at for crackin the window.
I did sneak the bedroom open last night!

When its comfortable we leave the windows open and the bedroom door now stays open for the cat to come and go as she pleases. We tried keeping it shut when we first got her but she made it very clear that the door was to be left OPEN!!

We keep the windows closed - and the door to the bedroom open - Harley wouldn't have it any other way!

I can't keep any windows open, cuz he'll break right out of the screen if we're sleeping! While we're wake its no problem, but he's a sneaky little fella!

Ultimately I would prefer the windows open for the fresh air and cool breeze that invites crickets singing you to sleep and pleasant dreams. I am a light sleeper I think though, because I cannot sleep past when the sun comes up because it's too bright. I have black construction paper over my windows in my bedroom to keep the sun out, and I only crack my door for the critters to get in and out, but I block it so they can't open it all the way and wake me with the light. So, I compromise and sleep with them closed, but with a fan on me to circulate the air!

winter (except the coldest of nights) the window is open, spring and fall it stays open, once the weather gets as hot as it has been here, it stays firmly shut so as not to waste the precious cool A/C air.
The door is always open, because even if I closed it, the fubles would open it again

I like the same. I have the fan going all year around and I just have to have the right blanket. I do also enjoy having the door and window open as well. If it gets too chilly, I just close the window.

I vote Open!
