This might be a stupid question but when you look at a bag of Nutro Natural Choice dry food, it says the protein is 33% min. But a can of Nutro Natural Choice canned food says the protein is 9% min.

So is feeding mostly dry better than feeding mostly canned because there is much more protein?

Maybe I should just blend some dry food with water and feed the kitties that?

the can is 78% mositure?? if so multiply the 9 by 3.5 to 4 so the protein is roughly 32-36% it can be higher but this formula will get us in the ball park .. that formula give the dry matter protein minus the mositure wt

I let my cat free feed Royal Canin most of the day and give her a small amount of Wet Cat food at dinner. She dinks plenty of water, but wet food only adds to it.

I've been totally convinced that wet food is better than dry, thanks to the peeps on here! I feed a mixed diet of wet and dry - it used to be about two thirds dry and one third wet but I'm now switching that around. As Sharky says - most of the wet food is moisture. If you compare the dry ingredients there is as much protein in the wet.
