Hi all - I'm new to the threads and did look through the older threads, so don't hate me for posting this if it's already been answered!!
I have three cats, one is a 16yo Manx. He has always had bouts of colitis, or irritable bowel syndrom, and would poop in various places around the house, for a few days and then the colitis would clear up and he would be fine for a month or so. Before you ask, yes, we have 3 litter boxes, various types - littermaid, hooded and not hooded, use premium litter, clean every day and all the cats are on vet-only food. They are our children and we spend whatever we need to on them. There have been no changes around the house, no new cats, or anything like that.
The Manx has started pooping everywhere and his colitis medicine isn't helping anymore. The vet shrugs his shoulders, all tests come back fine. Simon(cat, not vet)
has started even pooping on our bed in the middle of the night and let me tell you, that's a powerful stink to be woken up with. He eats dry food only (science diet w/d) and is healthy otherwise - still playing, eating, sleeping, etc. and he still goes pee in the boxes. It's regular poop, not diarreah, and nothing special about it, it looks like something you should find in the litter box.
Any recommendations? The cats are our lives and he has been my baby for the last 16 years, we even "spoon" together when we sleep, but this is getting out of control, we are feeling like we can't even have people over anymore for the fear that he will poop on something of theirs.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
