In some places it's perfectly legal to smash the window of a car with a child or animal in heat distress (or imminent heat distress) to save them. I think that's the case in Colorado and I know that's the case in Arizona.

That is awful. It shouldn't take much brain to realize how stupid that is. A few years back some prominent business man left his toddler in the car while he ate at this upscale restaurant for some business meeting. He is in jail now.

It has been so hot here that a girl at work said her blinds were melting!! My check card fell out of my purse and stayed in my seat of the car and melted!!

Under the cats, mostly.
I can't believe people are so stupid. I know it happens a lot, but it never fails to amaze me at some people ignorance. But hey, you can send some of that heat THIS way please!

I totally agree..I think that alot of the worlds problems would be solved if people actually practiced "do unto others as you would have done to you". Why don't people just think for one moment.."do I want to stay in this hot car, or would I rather be at home in the AC?" duh. I'm pretty sure the furry dog would LOVE to stay home in this circumstance.

I see it I call the humane society, Its against the law to endanger a pets life by boiling its little body in a car. Houw would they like it if I locked them in a car with the window cracked for an entire day in 35 degree weather

I'm not sure I'd even stop to wonder about the legality of smashing the window - I'd just do it. Then the next thing would be to take out my cell phone and call the police and stay right there until they came.

so angry!!! Some people are just jerks and should be.... steralized.
Please tell me you called the police. Or got the dog some water. The poor thing wouldn't have been able to lay down on the hot street. His paw pads were probably burning hot as well.

Some idiot would probably shave the dog & then leave it in the car...."it will be cooler that way". I think I had to explain that to someone once....shaving a dog before leaving it in the car doesn't help. They're still going to cook. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall...

According to my husband... the zoo
We just got our dog Ed last December and he goes just about everywhere with us... but already it's getting too warm here to take him anymore.

I am VERY conscious about that - if it's even 65 (and sunny) or 70, I won't take him, unless like others have said - someone waits in the car with him.
