My cat had 5 kittens in her first litter. What is the likelihood that she will have 5 again?

Quite good.

No offense but why is she having a second litter - is she a pure bred? If you are not a breeder please have her spayed as soon as possible and please keep her in doors.

I rescued three cats from two hurricanes. One was pregnant. I found homes for three of the five and kept the other two. All are spayed and neutered now except for this one female who I could not get into a cat carrier to save my life. No vets in the area would help me. After this litter I will have to hire a handler to get her in, although after almost two years, she is coming around and becoming more affectionate. I have made so many vet appts for her that I had to cancel. Believe me, this was not planned. I have done more than most human beings would do....beyond. Not to mention the exorbitant vet bills.

Crista..there is no way to know how many kittens this cat will have, it will depend on the number of matings that she had. Best advice I can give you since she isn't exactly easy to take to the vet's office is to ensure that she is indoors only and kept at least 2 doors away from the outdoors. You should probably use a humane trap to trap her and take her in once the kittens are weaned.

Cats often have the same size of litters, or about that size. But no guarantees. A little while ago a longtime ragdoll breeder told me she learned from experience that every 250 grams weight gain during pregnancy equaled one kitten, which turned out to be correct in most cases people could tell me the weight of their cat before pregnancy and at the end.
