about the avatars...

Hi there! I went into my 'User CP' and was wondering-I am now able to put an avatar up from the 'adult cat' and I was wondering-does that mean that I AM an ADULT CAT on here?
lol! When will I be able to put my OWN picture on here? I have already read the helpful thread about your special privileges and such as you go up on the ranking...also, if I AM an Adult Cat, and I want to use and Avatar from the earlier stages, will that make me appear as a younger staged cat to other people, or will it still say how I am an Adult Cat? Well, thanks for your time!

But, if it says that I need a certain amount of PMs, and I can't get them b/c I'm under 18, does that mean that I can't progress to higher levels of the 'cat levels' or will I still be able to?

Just to clarify, PMs are not a requirement of any level, rather a perk that's available at certain levels (unless you're a minor). So the fact that you can't use the PM system has no effect on your status, which is determined solely by how long you've been a member, and how many posts you have.

As far as avatars are concerned, your selection increases as you move from one level to the next, and once you are a Super Cat (700 posts and 120 days in membership) you can upload a custom avatar. You never lose access to the ones you have had previously, and the avatar you choose has no effect on your status.

Does that help? -- or just muddy the water some more?

Thank You! lol-well, I actually just recieved a PM from 'Squirtle' and she asked me to accept a 'read receipt'...Would you know what that means? I mean, what a 'read receipt' is...and I was able to send one back to her! I hope that I am not being charged if I say 'okay' or for sending or receiving them...

A read receipt just acknowledges that you have received and read the message. It doesn't cost anything.

OK, thanks! lol-so it doesn't cost anything to send OR receive? I was also wondering why it all of a sudden let me send/receive PMs....is it because I am now an 'adult cat' on here?
