Patches nipples are flat!!HELP!!

Yes, we all know the humiliation of being referred to as flat (well some of us do anyway,) but with 8 kittens to nurse, what should we do? 4 of her nipples are flush with her skin and the kittens cant latch on to that...they dont even really try.....Ive tried roughing it up a little.....not helping...I was wondering if this may be something someone else has experienced, and will it get better? She is still quite fat(only her tummy) so I'm hoping once the swelling goes down she will be more "accessable" to them. What do you guys think?

You can, for now, separate the litter into smaller groups, allowing each to nurse until they fall asleep and drop off of the nipple. Then put the second group in to nurse until they fall asleep and drop off. I have never had this problem *knocking wood so as not to jinx it* but hopefully, she can nurse them in groups.

Please dont take this the wrong way or think I am being perverted but my mom was here I told her she said try ice... Just a touch then latch on a kitten... WOrth a try if you still have trouble.

Take her to the vet and ask him to give her a shot. I forget what its called but it makes her lactate. If shes not feeding them buy canned goats milk. Can get it at Walmart or Ingles in the canned milk isle. and use a dropper and feed the babies not eating every two hours. Its half strength so delute it but only ad 1/4 water so it can strong for them. Our cat had to have an emergency sea section. She was not lactating. Her nipples should be poking out more. So he did the section saved the babies all four of em and gave her a small shot. Worked like a charm. (once we showed her how to nurse anyways.)
