Well, my other cat is a momma
! She had them under the porch where her mom had her. I wonder if that is why she had them there. I just discovered now and I'm too scared to go under my house to look lol(I'm a weenie I know)
. When hubby wakes up we are going to see how many she had and see if we can coax her in the house. Our other cat was more dependant on us where as this one is not! She has been like this since birth, we had to tame her and even still she can be a little skittish and shy. I think the pregnancy was a good thing for her since that can make a cat more loving, which it definitely did for her. I can't wait to see them!! I want to wake the hubby up but I don't feel like getting yelled at
. Anyways, when we can find a good area for them in the house I will take pics of all the kittens and post them.

I do hope you can coax her indoors because now is the time that she is vunerable to become pregnant again. If mom does not feel safe bringing her kittens indoors....then you should discuss having her spayed earlier rather than later to avoid having her get pregnant again.

Although cats in general become more affectionate during a pregnancy....that does not necessarily carry over once they have finished being a mom. Remember, when they are pregnant, they are looking for assistance with their kittens...however, once they are done with their kittens and heat sets back in...they can become less affectionate (they can actually return back to being as they were pre-pregnancy). It is best not to intentionally get a cat pregnant in order to make it more affectionate...a better option is to have it spayed which is better for the cat and for the cat population as a whole.

Eek! I hope you don't think I got her pregnant to make her nice lol. If that is what came across sorry. Funny how a cat can be nice while pregnant, me on the other hand...that is a whole other bag of worms lol.

Sirha....no need to apologize....just wanted to clarify that for anyone who reads this site.

If you think about it from a cat's perspective, it's a great way to ensure survival for her kittens...because if she has then in your home, there is a greater chance for the kittens to survive. I've run across several individuals who have rescued stray pregnant cats and commented on how friendly they were and were completely caught off guard when the cat's personality changed once heat set back in. That is why it is a really good idea to set up a spay appt. for mom once the kittens are around 6-8 weeks (depending on weaning).

I also know that many of my friends who were pregnant have commented that they felt completely different about being pregnant (it did not encourage them towards becoming affectionate).

Glad to read that your waiting is over....let us know if you are able to convince mom to bring her little ones indoors.
