My oldest Gizmo has bad teeth ....the vet said that he needs to be put under general anaesthetic and have his teeth descaled, cleaned and polished soon. We have booked him in for an appointment soon, but in the meantime, the vet has given me LOGIC Oral Hygiene Gel to give him every day (just a small bit on his paw for him to lick or put straight into his mouth).

Has anyone else used this gel? I noticed his breath and drool is so much less stinky than usual...which is nice as Gizmo drools everywhere when he is having a cuddle.

I brush all of my cats' teeth with Logic and I have seen a vast improvement and so much less bild up of plaque!

That's great that you're seeing a difference too!

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

I think the gels are good. They're no substitute for a full dental when things have gotten really bad (just like a toothbrush won't do if you really need a root canal), but they definitely can help prevent dental problems.

What can you do if the kitty won't let you near their mouth to brush the teeth? I even bought swabs with some liquid stuff. Lucky has lost 7 teeth and Molly loss less. Spunky had severe cause of ginivities and almost didn't make it through.

I don't know about other toothpastes, but Logic can be smeared on the cat's paw, so they will lick it off!

You may want to speak to your vet about toothpastes available there?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand how the cat licking it off a finger or paw will help their teeth?

Ginger has bad back teeth with areas that food gets caught in and she won't let me brush them. I'm looking for ideas, but how does simply swallowing and ingesting a gel get plaque off teeth?

The Logic toothpaste (that I have mentioned) sticks to their teeth and gums, while they lick it up. This allows the enzymes to get to work, preventing plaque and calculus build up.

Logic appears to only be available in the UK - you wouldn't happen to know where I could buy some, or if they have a similar product in the US?
