I called home after picking up Sarabi at the vet. When I told my 6 y/o ds that she was spayed, he said, "Oh, no!" I really try to explain to him why we have to spay the cats, but he just enjoys the kittens so much!

I brought home a ginger foster Mom, and he said wouldn't she and Garfield make nice kittens? My goodness, she already had 6 kittens! LOL!

Reminds me of the time he had a great suggestion for the spay and neuter clinics we have in my town. He suggested instead of paying the vets to be on their feet doing one cat after another for several hours, we should offer them a free cat!

Kids are just too funny sometimes. My boss's son is into a lot of independant thinking lately (he's also 6) and oh my the things he comes up with!

While we are on this subject, I have got to tell ya all what my daughter said the other night.
We were out at my brothers after my sons graduation and we were talking about a nest of birds that were out in my brothers bushes and for some reason she pipes up and says "Im gonna eat a baby bird" OMgosh, it was soo funny the way she said it! I think its one of those where ya had to be there, but we were all rolling it sounded so funny!! And the way she was using her hands explaining herself. We all were lilke "oh no, you dont wanna eat a baby bird" . LOL-sorry but it was funny/cute.

That does sound funny! My oldest used to chase seagulls at the beach...we always told her we would cook one for dinner if she caught it! (She never even got close...don't worry!)

*grins* Fh and I saw his (adult) cousins (they have two kids, a 13 year old girl and a 5 year old boy) for the first time since we got engaged a couple nights ago. The boy wants to be the big brother to our babies...

I just had the talk about spay/ neuter with my fiance's son Saturday morning. He is 9, and we were on our way to Petsmart with Brody. I mentioned that Brody would be getting neutered after his heartworm treatment and he seemed upset that Brody wouldn't ever be able to get a female pregnant so she could have puppies. He said that he hopes his mom never gets their dog at home spayed so she can have puppies also. I tried explaining to him about the overpopulation problem, etc. I think they have a hard time understanding the big picture and how one litter can have such a wide scale affect.
