Hmm...I've heard of some of those. Not really my style. Mostly I listen to older stuff like Neil Diamond, James Taylor, Carly Simon, etc. I like Nelly Furtado and Lisa Loeb, those are the only recent ones I can think of.
Favorite songs...
Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon - Neil Diamond
Lola - Sarah Vaughn
Sandalwood - Lisa Loeb
If you asked me this question 4 years ago I'd probably be more passionate in my response but my world doesn't revolve around music anymore. I still do enjoy music but it doesn't have the same effect on me as it once did. I still have my favorites though.
My favorite band I'd say would be Tool. A close second would be the Offspring.... I know what you're thinking... Pretty fly for a white guy ugh! Really though their old stuff is awesome and I practically lived for it at one time.
Now I listen to Linkin park, Stained and whatever comes on the radio.
I don't really have any favorite songs but I do like that new one from Defult.... I don't know the name of it.
Current fav is Great Big Sea - they had a TV special on CBC last night.
Also love the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies (swing)
Josh Grobin has a too die for voice.
Carolyn Dawn Johnson is an amazing songstress.
Can't go wrong with Abba or Queen
I have ecletic music tastes - there is nothing that I won't try at least once. On my CD player right now (I have a 5 disc player set on random) is a 2 disc 70's disco music combo, Tim McGraw, Great Big Sea and Now 3.
Favorite band is now and always will be - Nine Inch Nails. Trent is god.
Don't really have a favorite song right now. I listen to country at work, 80s rock at the club where hubby DJs, whatever else is on in hubby's car when we go somewhere (no stereo in my car - it got stolen
The Brian Setzer Orchestra
Social Disortion
Mike Ness
Omar and the Howlers
The Reverend Horton Heat
Southern Culture on the Skids
Junior Brown
I love "Break the Cycle" the latest Staind cd, even though I don't listen to much of that kind of music.
"The Wind Cried Mary" by Jimi Hendrix is and always will be, my favorite song. I even named my daughter "Mary".
Hmmmm... I would have to say
Destiny's Child- They have amazing vocals and they keep their music fairly clean
FFH (Far From Home)- a great christian band
Point of Grace- They are an amazing group of women
Plus One- A great group of guys- none of the cheesy lyrics
Hmmmm...I can't really say that I have a favorite band, but I do like dance music alot. I'd have to say that I like a little bit of everything. Celine Dion used to be a favroite of mine about 5 years ago and also Mariah Carey.
I'm mostly into Alternative- I love Staind, Puddle of Mudd, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Nickelback etc., but lately I've been listening to some more 'perky' stuff like "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World, some Blink 182 and Sum41. Believe it or not, I've been listening to Alanis a little lately- shes not typically my style, but her stuff just makes so much sense to me right now, I can relate to the lyrics of songs like 'Thank U' and 'Hands Clean'.
Of course, there will always been a special place in my musical realm for Nine Inch Nails- I always come back to CDs like Broken and Pretty Hate Machine from time to time. I guess Trent will always be a staple for me
My favorites are NIN and Garbage. When I was in High School, I graduated in 1996, I had all, for that time anyways, the NIN albums on tape (I didn't have a CD player). I have so badly wanted to buy them on CD, now that I have a cd player both at home and in my car, but it always ends up that my money has to be spent on necessities. I think the last cd I bought was my second Garbage CD, it has an orange cover, and that was probably 2 years ago and is in the player in my car right now. It always seems that when I get to hear NIN in the car, hubby is in the car and he can't stand them and I don't get to listen
The few times I have bought CDs, when I get home I go, "Oh Dangit, why didn't I buy NIN." Most of my cd's I haven't even bought for myself, but have been from other people as gifts. I've asked for NIN in the past but nobody remembers.
I like Tool but I lost the cd that I had of theirs. I would love to get the Foo Fighters and The Toadies CDs! Other that that I like a lot of the stuff they are playing on the radio like Linkin Park and a lot of the other new bands that I can't think of their names right now.
I like rap but I don't like any artists exclusively to where I would buy their CDs.
I don't really have a favorite band or artist. I will listen to Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John, Billy Joel(sadly, I couldn't go to their concert),Abba, and other oldies.
I love 80's and early 90's music. I found a station that plays a lot of it and I nejoy it!
But I also listen to latino music like Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias, and many others.
I love all kinds of music, but I don't really listen to country that much. Mostly I like alternative, but I also really like Dido, the Gipsy Kings (a Spanish group, they're awesome!), Sting.
My favorite for years, and forever is U2. I love everything about their music. I saw them twice on their tour last year, and they were amazing. I am a little in love with Bono (my S/O gets a little jealous)
Music has always been very important to me. It can put me in a better mood and make my day better.
Bands/groups etc: Alanis Morissette, Kosheen, Staind, Nikleback, AAF, Pink, Coldplay, Massive Attack, Radiohead, Dido, David Gray, the list goes on and on and on and on,(oh, and the Levellers...) ....
songs: Hmm.....Pretty much ANYTHING by Alanis,- especially, Unsent, Flinch, and Unsexy
Hungry by Kosheen
Attitude by AAF
Teardrop by Massive Attack
Ooooo sooooo many...... I just can't list them all!!!
Bjork is marvellous - I can listen to any of her albums at any time of the day or night - there is always at least one track that matches your emotions at that time.
Morcheeba - soulful and funky.
The Smiths - takes me back to my youth, as a miserable teenager full of angst.
Mary J Blige (sp) and Missy Elliot for some sing-a-longs.
Elton John - how does this man keep on going.
Faithless - but I always hated the tracks that had Dido singing on them....
And any dance music - handbag house as a preference.
Bodlover, True, true, true! Even with the goofy shades and the pseudo-mullet, Bono is one sexy man. Funny how many people agree, and he isn't traditionally handsome.
I remember when I first started listening to U2, I didn't think he was all that. Then I saw a clip of a live performance, and the way he stalked up and down the stage was incredible. That and the hair (the long Joshua Tree look). I was hooked.
You mentioned a band called the Levellers. Who are they?
