I had a very late night last night(early morning) and when I got home(5'sh) one of my cats had caught a baby birdie. Ok-well she dropped it and let the others have a turn "batting" at it-I let one of the dogs out, so maybe he could finish it off(not to sound mean or cruel, but they had injured it) I was in tears-I didnt know what to do. So thinking it would probly die with in a few minutes, I wake up at 830 this morning and see that its still alive! I felt so so so bad for that thing-to think it was played with and tortured that long, bless its heart it was all covered in dirt and tried flying, but couldnt. So I felt like having DH get rid of it was only fair.....Bless his widdle soul anyways.
I was crying for quite some time over that guy. RIP 'lil birdie.

You can do what I did and bury it in the backyard
When I found a dead birdie in one of my bird houses I buried it in my backyard cuz I dunno it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Thats the only down side of having moggies.

Jake used to catch loads of birds, usually the babies which are just leaving the nest, its horrible. I remember one baby blackbird that Jake had damaged and it was unable to fly, the cries of the parent birds was heartbreaking

As he has got older he doesn't seem that bothered about hunting anymore thank goodness.
