We got two females, A bengal and a serengiti at the same time and age (12 weeks). At 8 months we introduced a male bengal of 12 weeks and all was well. Now Chaka of 11 months is beating up on her sister almost every day. Myah sustained an eye injury in one of the bouts in the begining, So I consider the cats are not playing. What can I do? I was considering putting maple syrup on Chaka as punishment, I'm sure she would not enjoy cleaning it off, But I don't know if cats are capable of learning. This has got to stop. Any suggestions? TIA

Often when you add a new cat too the family this happens. I'm sorry to hear your having this problem. I can't really offer any help. But I must say I don"t see that putting maple syrup
on one of the cats will help at all!

I did'nt think it would work. Or reprimanding a cat in any fashion for that mater. I have to leave the door to the storage room open so that Myah, that is so much more agile than Chaka the giant bengal can escape up on to the storage shelves where Chaka can't seem to make the jumps. I really hope this is just a temporary thing. Beau the new kittie has been suckling on Chaka but she discourages him as we do. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Are they neutered? I'm guessing from the timescale that your male cat is approx 6 months now? If so he'll be reaching sexual maturity and your females could be fighting over him. Just an idea.

Both females are spayed but Beau has been slated for newtering the begining of June. Boy I hope so. I have to jump out of bed out of a dead sleep like a Marine under attack So I can break it up. The cries and howels and banging are un-nerving. I so afraid one's going to loose an eye.
