Hi everyone! My name is Amy. I'm married to Matthew, we have a (human) daughter, Hope (20 months) and just brought home 2 long haired brothers whom we named Alex and Marbles. They are 8 weeks old. We bought Marbles Saturday night, but upon coming home and having him one night alone, decided he needed a playmate from his litter.
We went Sunday to get Alex. I have never owned cats before (no, wait...I have never had a cat own me...hehe), but we lived with my in-laws for 4 months and they have 3. Marbles is very affectionate and loves to have his belly rubbed--especially by Mommy. Alex won't let anyone come near him yet. He runs even if you are 2-3 feet away from him. We're trying to give him some time as it has only been a few days. When my daughter is awake, they hide behind the couch, but we have put a baby gate up between the kitchen and living room so they can escape her for play, eating, and using the litter box. She is too loud (very excitedly screaming "Kitty!!!") for them and comes at them too quickly in her excitement. Here is a picture of my babies. I hope to learn from you all!
