This is the first I've heard of this, but not at all supprising. I've known people who have had special needs cats, and they have gone down to eating one meal a day so they could buy all the meds their cats needed. I guess if I was going to be homeless I would have to give them up, but it makes me sick just thinking about it.

We actually just got 3 cats in this week from another shelter, but not in the Appleton area. It was a Humane Society and these 3 were favorites of the workers who were getting very close to being put down. So we agreed to take them and they are three of the sweetest cats I've met. Since we are a no kill they'll stay with us as long as it takes, but I really think it won't take that long. It is so wonderful to know we saved 3 lives this week.

It's great you took these 3 cats...seems like it is already a bad kitten season out there.

How sad that so many people don't/can't spay/neuter their pets in this day & age!! I was actually very happy that our local pet store is having to send to Nevada for kittens, since in our area there is a very active spay/neuter program.
I can only send prayers for all the new kittens coming into the world and for strength & encouragement for all you wonderful rescue & TNR groups!!

I can't imagine getting rid of Trout if I lost my job...That seems so wrong, like do you get rid of your kids if you lose your job? Or do you get your ars out looking for a job to feed the kits?
