We have 4. That's our max. Isis is getting to the point that she isn't tolerating the other cats very well for some reason. We took her to the vet and she is healthy, I guess she is just becoming temperamental or a cranky old lady!

She will yeowl when they walk by her, or sniff her, or pretty much breathe her air. But she never strikes at them and they never strike at her. I don't know why she does this. It's strange.

We have three. I started with one, and never imagined more than that, until a colleague needed to rehome her two. Then we learned the joys of a multi-cat household. That said, three is a nice number, but if another made application and was accepted by the resident felines, he/she would be welcome. We have had such an application recently, and the humans would have said yes, but the cats said a vehement no. They have the last word.

I have four and that is my limit. I would love one or two more but I have two with medical issues and just couldn't financially afford it. Besides my lap is pretty full at night with the kitties playing musical sleeping positions.

I thought two was the limit and then we met Carly. So we have three. I think that is my limit (it is also the municipal limit so everything works out). Wow I didn't know any place had a municipal limit but then again I live way out in the middle of nowhere too. But I guess I am not certain how I feel about a municipal limit I can see good and bad in it.

I have 2 right now, and that's my limit as long as I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. When I move later this year I'll probably have one more.

I have just one, which is all my landlord will allow. I don't think it's fair - he has two! The problem is that his are both boys that peed all over their new apartment after they moved in (we live in a duplex and the landlord has the apartment upstairs,) so much so that the landlord had to replace his rugs.

So, just because HIS cats peed all over, he assumes that any I get will also, so he won't let me have more than one. Plus they were shelter cats that had already been neutered when he got them, so he has no idea when it was done or exactly how old they are.

I tried to tell him they were just being territorial and were probably stressed by the move, but he wouldn't hear it. His cats also don't get along and they fight all the time - it sounds like elephants upstairs when they are fighting. They each have their own roon upstairs, and God forbid if one crosses over the threshhold into the other's territory!

I REALLY would like another furbaby, but without landlord approval, I can't get another from the local shelter. If anyone in or close to MA has any kittens they are looking to find a good home for, Ginger would love someone to play with! Until then, she makes do playing with her beanie baby orange tiger kitten.

I have one, and I'm trying to find a place to live with her right now. It's hard enough with one cat! Now, I will never live anywhere that Zissou can't come too, but with more than one cat we'd all just be homeless.

So for now, one is my limit. However, when I've bought a house a few years down the line and have the money/space etc I'd like around five.
