Should I be concerned?

Every so often I see these little red spiders, just smaller than a pin head crawling on my desk at work.

I usually smash them, but I still go home with all the crawling-feelings on my skin.

Sounds like spider mites to me. They can't hurt you, but they LOVE to suck the blood, I mean juices of plants. Do you have plants on or near your desk?

My whole office smells (Im right next to the mens bathroom).

Anyhoo, yes I do have a Pothos plant at my desk. Looks like I'll be visiting the greenhouse around the corner! Or Kmart...

Thanks!

I always thought they were chiggers..

Anyway I've seen them before and I'm a sap at squishing bugs..whenever I see a bug even the lil bitty ones inside I put it on a piece of paper and let it go outside.

Yep they are red spider mites!! They love plants. I saw one on my comforter a few weeks ago and did a big search on them. I thought it was a real spider and started freaking out. I think they are harmless to humans.

Well..I do have a story for that one but it wasn't spidermites..

I was just gettin to bed when I noticed my window was still open so I shut it and crawled back into bed. Jack Daniels plopped up on my bed and was curling himself up until something caught his eye so he started pouncing. I didn't have my glasses on so I was curious as to what he was jumping at. So I sat up and leaned real close to it and it just looked like a teeny paper ball. I poked at it a couple times and it flared out into a big huge spider!!!!!

I leapt back so fast I hit my head on my headboard!!! Jack Daniels then ate the little bugger and I applauded him for doing so!

EEK! We get a wolf spider every now and then! I remember when one came into my room and I attacked it with lysol and had to close Jack Daniels into the closet so that he wouldn't try to go after it!

Yea, Wolf Spiders freak me out!
I found one in a place I worked at (I didn't know what it was until afterwards), so I went to stomp on it. I missed and the thing started charging me! I ran screaming out of the room. Someone else stomped it and told me not to miss the next time or else they'll charge at you.

I got bitten by one years ago, and my cheek blew up to the size of a silver dollar! The doctor had to cut in there several times to drain it. Not fun.
On a positive note, tho, I did end up with a dimple there!

Now I'm thinking of putting one on the other side, so it'll match!
