Our Hobbes is the happiest when he's actually laying ON something. Whether it be the remotes (his favorite), or our cell phones, or his sister...he's most comfortable when he's laying on something. He'll even go so far as to get up on the arm of the couch and give me his pitiful puppy-dog eyed look until I put a remote there for him to lay on!

Do your kitties do this?

YES! And it drives me crazy - I'll look all over for the remote, reach under her, and there it is! She gives me this look like, "What? I was just keeping it warm for you, mom!"

I've caught her snoozing on 16 oz water bottles, books, the remote, of course, her toys, my dirty laundry and my pocketbook.

Yup - Harley lays on anything and everything!

Its really hard when I get down on the floor and start doing my scrapbooking stuff - he lays on all my papers, stickers, books - everything!

I think its a cat thing

Neither of my cats really has a thing for laying on things. However, Callie does love to lay on her paper in the evenings. I bring home these large pieces of packing paper and she will stretch out on them when they are on the floor!

Shadow is the same way... She will even lay on my husbands stinky shoes after he gets home for work. I cant even stand the smell of them when i am in the room let alone put my nose in them like she does....lol she will lay on paper, books, clothes reptile lids, the AC unit. the only thing she has not so far is the remote. but now that i said that she will lay on it. (just my luck)

Lol...I know what you mean about the shoes. My husband's been trying to keep the kitties from playing in (and when they were younger, they literally were little enough to be IN) the shoes for two years! It's funny...they both bring their balls over, drop them in the shoe, and try to shove their heads in there to try to get it back. It's wonderful!! They have so much fun, I let them play when he's not in the room. Hehe...I think it's adorable...they never do any harm...it just bugs him for some reason.

Georgia has a thing for lying on stuff, too. She's particularly fond of the piles of to-be-graded papers I often have around-- I hope none of my students are allergic!!

I got several messages from the campus bookstore that my books were in. They were weird messages, like she didn't know for sure if this was the right number. I didn't understand until she told me today that the message was nothing, just background noise(& what I have determined to be cat-bath noises). Apparently, while Twitch was basking on the answering machine(home phone), she erased the message & made her own!
Dad's peeved as that is the business phone as well...someone might have called & not known who they were talking to....I still think it's hilarious!
