Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been 24 hours and she is still doing it. Doesnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t seem like it got any better. You can really see it when she is laying down sleeping, almost like she is having a bad dream. Thoughts?

It may be a bad reaction to the tranquilizer....I'd give your vet a quick ring to make sure she doesn't need to come back in.

When in doubt call the vet and let him/her know what is happening.

When Bijou sleeps he twitches which for him is pretty normal. Did she twitch before the spay when she slept?

When Ginger was spayed, it took her a full three days to fully metabolize and process the anesthesia she was given. The twitches and tremors scared me, too, but after the three days, she was back to normal. Never a tremor since, and that was 7 months ago.

She didn't twitch before. Maybe it's shivering. Just put a blanket on her and she stopped. But it's not cold in the house.

I don't know how much access we have to the vet, she was a rescue and procedure was done a clinic. But have already informed the head of our rescue group, she will contact the clinic and see. Just wanted to see if I should be extremely worried.

Just wanted to add that my Ginger's trembling began about 24 hours after her spay and lasted 2 days after that, and then she was fine. I would put a call in to the vet though, just to be on the safe side, but it sounds to me like she is just getting over the anesthesia.

Just because your kitty was a rescue doesn't mean she isn't deserving of the same vet care any cat should receive. Call the vet and explain what she's doing - none of the cats I've ever had spayed trembled. It could be that she's in pain. If they didn't give you pain meds to administer at home, ask for them. Spaying is major surgery and pain meds should be given for at least 2-3 days after.
