I just brought a new kitten home last night. He is now hiding, which I know is totally normal and not eating yet. I was wondering how long should I wait to try to tempt him to eat. I was thinking about bringing out some tuna and putting a little bit of that on his food. Is there a good timeframe for this kind of thing?

Can you find 'Catmilk' (small maroon juice-box) at your grocery? Tuna is a bit rich for a kitten, and Catmilk is formulated not to aggravate cats' tummies like cow's milk. A little bit of shredded chicken might help too, or a piece of sardine (which is so smelly!). But maybe just leave a saucer with e.g. Fancy Feast Salmon close by - they all seem to like and tolerate that. He definitely has to eat. Also absolutely leave a saucer of fresh water available.

I've been going in once an hour and petting him. I'm letting him know that he's a "good kitty". He is now purring when I pet him. I hope that this is a good sign. I also have left some treats out in a little pile just so he can have something. So far so good. I'll keep you posted.

Things are going much better today. He's coming out and running around. If we make a sudden movement he will dash back under the chair. He's also eating as well as using his litter box. Soon we have to start the introductions to our other cat. That is going to take a while. Anyone have any good suggestions on how to do this so that the cats don't hate each other?
