HI all! I found some poison ivy growing near my garage. Does anyone know of a non-toxic way to get rid of it? Although my two cats are strictly indoors, my neighbors let their cats out. And I wouldn't want to use anything that could harm them in any way. Thanks so much for any help you might give!

I don't know how to get rid of it, but I will ask my husband for you. He hates the stuff, he is SO allergic to it, and has very sensitive skin. I myself can pull it out by the roots and not even get it. I guess I am immune to it. My dad was the same way..it didn't affect him at all.

Yeah, I learned in biology class that you have to have the gene to be allergic to poison oak, ivy, sumac. I don't have the gene, I used to troll trough it as a kid and never got it.

Sorry, don't know how to get rid of it though.

Well, I haven't gotten rid of the poison ivy yet, but it sure did get me! I have it on my arms and face. I don't think I came in contact with it but I did pet my neighbors cat. So she must have had it on her coat. Short of pulling it out by the roots, I don't know what to do. I'll keep checking back here. Maybe someone will find a solution for me.
