When should I start food for kittens?

I would feed mom kitten food (both wet and dry) in the same room as you have her with her kittens. That way....when the kittens are old enough..they will actually get curious and try to eat mom's food.
Same thing with the litterbox. I had my foster mom and kittens in the bathroom and I used xerox boxes as a litterpan for mom and the box tops for the kittens. Worked like a charm.

no muss no fuss as they say...I thought I'd have to do some sort of mushy smushy thing! I also have a preggy mother due any moment soo....can use all the shortcuts i can get. Both fosters.......

Wow...full house. I didn't have to do any "mushy smushy" thing....but the kittens were rather messy in their exploration of the wet food. I fed mom a little can of kitten food twice a day plus eukanuba kitten dry in plastic bowls (again...easy disposal). BTW....you may want to get a hold of a small cat tree that you can put in the room for when the kittens start running about.
