I just tried to make a nesting box for my cat. But, I was wondering if it has to be newspaper? Can it be cut up strips of foam rubber in there? It is the stuff you use as an egg crate matteres the stuff you would put on your bed. This is my first time doing this so I am a little uneasy about all of this. How long in adavnce do I need to make the box? If anyone can help me it would be greatly appretiated.....

My cat chose the closet and I knew that it was where she was going to give birth. I covered the floor in layers of old towels so I could strip off the top one or two and she would have a clean bed. Old towels seem to work well, and they wash up so you can use them again.

Anesting box can be anything soft you don't mind dis[posing of. Old toweels are good... another suggestions i saw here was to put the soft material such as what you are talking about in an old pillowcase, this keeps it all together and you dont have to worry about tiny kitten claws keep getting stuck in it. Whatever it is, it should be thrown away after birthing is done. How far along is she?

I am thinking she is due in a week and a half to 2 weeks. I am not sure though. I know she is far enough along I can feel and see the babies moving around in there. So, I am not exactly sure when she is due.

Yes when she lays on her side you can see them twitching in there. She isn't really big like your Skittles, so I am thinking she only has 3 or 4 babie sin there.
