Hi Everyone: I have two orange tabby males ( 9 months and 3 months) They are both rescues.

Here are my questions:

I noticed one of them, the oldest has BAD GAS and digestive issues. I noticed he had some blood and muscus in his poop. I think this was him but I have two cats and it is hard to tell (any suggestions on figuring out which one it was would be helpful) Anyway I switched his food. He was cheap friskies but I switched to Natural Balance which I heard was healthier.

So my questions (really) are:

1. Is Natural Balance a good quality food?
2. what do you do about Kitty gas?
3. How concerned shsould I be over mucus and a little and I mean tiny bit of blood in the stool.

Any help would be great.

I think you should refer this one to the vet asap. My kittens were showing signs of this and it turns out they have roundworms and giardia. What you are describing sounds like roundworms - have they been wormed by the vet? I'm no vet however and its best you take them in for a check. Good luck

Yes but it can be a very rich food

2. what do you do about Kitty gas?
Mine dont have issues since diet was straightened out... soy corn wheat are likely cuplrits

3. How concerned shsould I be over mucus and a little and I mean tiny bit of blood in the stool.
Get to a vet ASAP

When did you switch foods and did you do it gradually

It's always best to bring them to the vet with these types of things. The vet is the expert and knows best for your cat. That's what I would suggest.

About the stool....please take kitty to a vet. It sounds like there could be worms, which is not really a lifethreatening situation, but it DOES need to be treated as it can become quite hard to treat and can cause anemia, etc.

It could be parasites or it could be ibd or ?? Best way to be sure, and to know how to deal with it is a vet exam and taking a stool sample in for them to check for worms, coccidia, giardia etc.

Natural Balance is a good food, def. a step up from the previous brand you listed
