We see them all over here - the children are so adorable


There are a lot of Amish Markets here, their breads are great!

I wonder about hay prices, I used to raise Throughbreds and Quarter Horses, they can eat some hay & grain, and the cost of shoes for them
and vet bills, I'm sure they haven't gotten any better price wise.

Wow! Sometimes old resources are still good...There's no shortage of hay coming anytime soon is there? Maybe I'll start driving one to work.

Just curious but would their beliefs stop them using modern vetinary treatments !


I love driving horses but not sure I could cope completely without modern technology.

Fran, I think people have confused you; the people are called Amish (after Jakob Ammann, one of their early leaders) or, if they live in the area they first settled in, Pennsylvania "Dutch" (Deutsch). They live pretty much like they did centuries ago, and reject modern conveniences, like electricity, phones, and vehicles.
The coach is called a "buggy".
