Hi,

My adorable 7 year old cat, Dominoe (20-22 lbs), has 2 black spots on his tongue.

I honestly can't say how long they have been there...he doesn't yawn often.

He is the most amazing cat....he loves everyone and anyone and spends his time sitting on us and purring and loving us! The world is a better place with him!
Yes, I know, I sound incredibly attached to my cat!
I am! We also have another cat (Coco, 3 yrs old) who we love like crazy too! He's the clown...always doing dog tricks and making us laugh!

Does anyone know what the black spots might be?

I am new to this site and any help/info I get will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!

Anita

Always great to read a post from someone who truly loves her kitties!

If you've had Domino for years and never noticed the spots on his tongue before, you should have the vet take a look. If it's something that shouldn't be there, better to find out now to get it treated quickly. If it turns out to be nothing to worry about, the vet visit will have been worth it just for your peace of mind.

well, since you don't know how long they've been there, you might want to check with a vet...but Java has a black spot on the roof of her mouth, & it's always been there. so it might just be coloration. you might try feeling of them...

That is why I asked - Ellie, my black cat, has always had discoloration in her mouth - it is part of her pigment.
