our cat keeps crying day and night nothing seems to help. he's not hurt externally he gets enough food and he wakes us up everynight.we've tried the squirt bottle it doesn't work. we don't want to have to get rid of him. we adore him but we can't live like this.

If you dont get the cat fixed soon you will have bigger problems then him making noise. He will start urinating alll over everything. And it doesnt cost 500 to neuter a cat. I live in NY, the most expensive place to live on the east coast and it was 500 for the both of my cats. You should see another vet if they are trying to charge you 500

I am sure there are other low cost vets that to it too, have you tried asking the cat protection?? or a animal shelter if they could do it?

an ice cube in Iowa...
If it cost $500 to alter our pets, most of us probably couldn't do so...that's outrageous!

I paid $30 to have Fergus neutered, and Ripley $60 to be spayed...and this was not a low-cost program, just my regular vet office.

It's the best thing you will ever do for your pet...and I guarantee it will help with the crying behavior.

I agree, that cost is terrible!

Our vet doesn't even charge that much for a pediatric spay/neuter.
