I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to imply that you weren't taking care of her. Obviously you are, or she wouldn't be here.
I think you're doing a wonderful job.. I guess I just thought you said you had a relative that could possibly diagnose and help you treat her... perhaps I misunderstood.

I totally understand about the money... I think she'll eventually be fine, I'm just overcautious. I would want to know right away what kind of long term damage she had, that's the only reason I thought you should go now, not because I think she's going to die. I just didn't know your situation.

Hi
I'm new to the forums but have read all your news and just can't believe what you've been through. My cat has just had kittens and although at least 3 of the 4 will be given to really good homes, I already couldn't bear it if anything happened to any of them and they're only 6 days old today!

I noticed you've had some albeit well meaning but slightly critical messages from some people, ie taking Willow outside, back to the vets etc. You can only do so much and it sounds to me as if you have done everything and a little bit more that you can and that is all that anyone can ask of you. You can't use your rent money again otherwise none of you will have a home, including Willow, so how daft is that. You have your family to think about too.

So basically I'm just saying that if I was your friend or relation and knew you in person, I would be SO PROUD of everything you have done. I hope Willow, and the other babies, continue to strive and do well, just make sure you keep yourself well too!

Take care, I'll keep coming back for updates.

Hello Silver & Willow...she looks fantastic!!!!

I'd give her eye a little bit more time to heal..i forgot to add in previous posts that my little ginger ones left eye was a lot more swollen than the right eye when she was stepped on. (On the way to the vet that eye looked really scary it was bulging and terror stricken. i thought she was dead
)

Her eye settled down after about 3-4 days was a bit of a worry .. but little Willow seems to have been thru a bit more..there was no blood with my lil ginger..

Hang in there!

I'm so happy that Willow is still improving!!!!!!
It takes time to heal from injuries such as hers. She is improving quicker than expected for the nature of her injuries!!!! You made such amazing use of the few resources you had, and Willow would not be here today if it weren't for you! Congratulations!!!!! I'm sure you'll continue to see her improve by leaps and bounds with each day to come!

I'm sorry if my comments seemed like I didn't think you were doing the best for Willow. It's just that reading this thread has got us all so attached to the little darling and we are rooting for her right along with you. If anything, we on TCS, get very emotionally attached to all kittens/cats near and far!

I keep willow in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Keep on improving willow...you are such a fighter!!!!

I've only now just seen this thread and I'm very sorry for what has happened to Willow. You have shown a great deal of dedication and love in caring for her and I'm sure that's why she has made it this far.

I'm sure you feel much guilt and sorrow about what has happened but we all know it was completely an accident - something which could have happened to any of us.

From looking at the pictures, using my experience in many years of caring for kittens, I can see that she is very ill still. I know she has improved from just after the accident but she really, really does need to see a vet ASAP. I know money is an issue for you, as it is with many of us. Is there an animal shelter or rescue that you could give her to? They may be able to give her the x-rays and tests she needs and most importantly, get her to a vet. There is also a really good article here about what to do when you can't afford a vet: http://www.thecatsite.com/Health/76/...erinarian.html Remember that cats and even kittens are very good at hiding their pain and I believe she is still hurting. She can't do much for herself right now and needs you to make sure she is getting everything she needs, including an assessment by a vet.

I would hate to think there may be something very wrong with her brain or other internal organs, causing her to suffer in pain, and we do not know it because she hasn't seen the vet again.

I will be honest here and ask you that you don't let your guilt about this accident, cloud your judgement in knowing what is best for Willow.

Lina,

What Tania has said rings very true in my head as well. Guilt can play tricks with people's minds. Sometimes, we want things so bad that we tend to look at a situation from a perspective that isn't based in reality.

The eyes on this kitten are very telling. Please take her to a cat vet and have her assessed. Listen to what the vet tells you about her prognosis and her chances. She is a fragile, young creature dependent on you to do the right thing for her. Please don't protest you don't have any money. No one ever seems to have money stashed for an emergency, but you find a way to get it when it is needed. It is needed here. There is an excellent vet in Eagle River, he used to be my vet. I can make one phone call and see if he will see her at this clinic on my behalf. If he is still in practice there. I will pay the vet bill for the one exam to get her assessed. That is a free- and clear offer, that is how worried I am for Willow.

I know that you are doing the best you can for her. But, I also know kittens, as does Tania, and this little one needs a professional vet to see her and quickly-
