Look for urine (if only a little) everytime you stimulate her. You can stimulate after each feeding.
And you can ask about diluting the KMR (that's what my vet had me do with my foster kitten) to keep her well hydrated and keep things moving.

I am so glad she is doing so much better! Will say a prayer for you both

Willow is doing so well today.
Shes up and walking, eating so much more
she even tried to nurse but im not sure if she managed it. The rest of the kittens are still nursing about 70 % of the time at 7 weeks old
Mom took care of # 2 for her for sure today. I saw it. I turned her back over to her siblings and mom last night. She managed to get out of the kennel and off the dresser and across the floor. I figured she was safer with her mom. Shes still not interested in solid foods and has lost alot of weight, so im going to up her feedings, try and bulk her up a bit more. All shes getting is KMR, wheres her siblings get kitten mom milk and cat kibble, they wont eat kitten chow... why i dont know, they turn from it and eat moms food. Odd..

I did notice a few odd things. Her head is always cocked to the right. To my left, she even walks with it cocked. and her right puple is always bigger then her left. I hope that something isnt damaged inside badly.. if so, we will survive. but its worth mentioning now. I want it written down when i first noticed it. Im using this as a record of her symptoms.

Minus my bad spelling of course. Cant spell properly half the time, worse when im worked up or tired hehe.
anyway i have to get going. Just wanted to check in for willow

I'm really glad to hear Willow is doing well

I hope emotionally you're not feeling so horrible about this because it was an accident. I had something similar happen with my very first cat ever, he was 6 weeks old and he decided to go under the chair I was sitting in [the chair I usually never sat in for this reason] he didn't survive and it was the most horrible thing I've ever done in my life so I definitley feel for you, and hope you don't beat yourself up too much.

The whole head thing could have to do with some kind of trauma her spine/head could have from the incident, it may never be corrected, but she sounds like she has a fighting chance at life. She'll just be the kitty with a story behind her

Does she interact with you? Look you in the eyes? Or does she seem pretty uninterested in her surroundings?

BTW, I'm glad to hear she's doing so well... I've been watching this thread with abated breath... I'm so proud of Willow and thankful for you!

I was just checking for an update on little Willow...she seems to be doing great!!! just makes me feel sorry for my lil stepped on one because she'd still be nursing if she had her mumma around... she had to cope with having no mumma AND being stepped on.

Tiffany your kittens are VERY cute! lol .. the ginger looks adoreable..

Heres my little stepped on ginger shes very well now though!!
she and her brother are 8 weeks old today

You know, I just recently had a cat that was cocking his head to the side and his pupil looked larger than the other eye, and come to find out, he had a ulcer behind the eye which was very painful. The doctor gave us some ointment to put in Purrsee's eye and with in a week he was just about 100% again. You might want to find out if your vet knows anything about that.

I am verrry happy that Willow is doing much better - she is in my prayers!!!!

Have a wonderful day!!

I think it is time for Willow to see a vet again, too. There may be something that can be done to help her. The uneven pupils most likely indicate some kind of brain damage. If there is swelling in the brain, it might be helped with medications.

What a little fighter! I am encouraged that she is still improving day by day!

Good point! I'll bet a steriod shot would help with that swelling, and let her body take over the healing.

Yeah Willow!!! you just keep fighting you little angel. I do think maybe she should go to vet for re-check. I will keep prayers coming, and you keep updates coming.

I'm glad to hear Willow continues to improve. Just a suggestion for feeding, have you tried adding Chicken Baby Food to the KMR? We use it at the shelter, it helps give extra protine & is easy to digest. You just have to make sure to check the ingredients to make sure it doesn't have anything but chicken, water & something to thicken it. (NO onions)
