I'd give my Dad a new heart, because he has congestive heart disease and a transplant is the only true cure.

6. What is your dream job?

I'm lucky that I love what I am doing, but if I wasn't doing research, I'd want to be an underwater archeologist or a forensic scientist for the FBI.

7. What was your most embarassing moment? (That you are willing to share anyway!)

My high school was sorta shaped like a toilet (round "bowl" area of classes and rectangular "tank" auditorium. There were also several floors. One year, I slipped and slid down the main staircase in between periods, when everyone was around. My brother's friends called me Bump (the sound I made when I slipped) for a while after that.

8. How are you like your parents?

I have my Dad's features but my Mom's coloring. I have a temper like Dad, but got my love of science from him. I have my Mom's stubbornness, but her openness. Unfortunately, I picked up smoking from both of them.

9. If you had to evacuate your home what would you bring with you?

Besides Ivo? My Mom's wedding ring and necklace Dad gave her as their first nice gift. The bracelet my grandfather gave me, and the pictures of my grandfathers in WWII. My kindergarten, college and Ph.D. diplomas. How much time do we have to evacuate?

10. What is the most endearing quality about your cat(s) (and/or dogs.)

The way Ivo purrs so much when I wake up in the morning or come home at night, that she can't actually meow. She ends up chirping, or meows silently. That she CRAVES going for walks in our hallway, but won't go unless I go with her.

I went to the bathroom to take care of business and when I returned, my supervisor came up to me and told me that the back of my skirt was up to my waist. ISeveral people saw the back of me!

8. How are you like your parents? I am very different from my parents. But I do have one trait. I am very stubborn like them!

Any job that pays me a lot of money....well, almost any job.

Had something to do with sleepwalking and sitting in a dresser drawer.

I inherited a quest for knowledge from my father and an annoying habit of perfectionism from my mother.

Do you even have to ask??? The cats, of course. The grandfather clock is too big to sling over my shoulder.

Squirt's most endearing quality is his snuggle factor, coupled with the conversations we regularly hold. Joey's most endearing quality is the fact that he is out of his little feline mind.

7. What was your most embarassing moment? (That you are willing to share anyway!) Oh I have so many! LOL Would have to be my first time at summer camp. I was all of 7 years old. The cabin went for a nature walk and was looking for unusual rocks. I found an unusual rock all right, but it turned out to be a turtle shell where the critter had shriveled up and gone away.

8. How are you like your parents? I am nothing like my parents. I am more sensitive and less concerned with money then they are. If I didn't have the birth certificate, I would swear I was adopted!

9. If you had to evacuate your home what would you bring with you? Oh gosh, all my cats and my dog and if I could, my Garfield collection- I have over 250 pieces

I think Kenai's most endearing quality is even though she is a dog she allows all the orphaned kitties to lie down with her at night if they need her. Kabota's endearing quality is he loves to wrap his paws around my neck, Bailey will follow me anywhere out in the horse pasture, Shredder loves to snuggle on my neck, Ripley sleeps under the covers with me, barty won't get off my lap, Dunkin just always looks cute, Kahuna brings me his toy every night so we can play fetch...they all have endearing qualities that are all different

I don't really have a favorite one but I just read "A dog's mind" and it's in the ranks as a very important book to me.

I haven't really thought about it but I sure do need a vacation.

Ooooh boy.... Well I'll tone this down a bit... When me and Brian were first dating we went to the beach late at night. While we were... talking... a police officer pulled up and flashed his light in the car!! That night I learned how to put my bra on UNDER my shirt.

8. How are you like your parents?

I'm tall like my dad but I look more like my mother. I also have their red hot tempers and their stubborness.

9. If you had to evacuate your home what would you bring with you?

My furries!!

Xavier-loves to cuddle and is VERY persistant about it.
Fallon-will stalk Mitzi for hours.
Mitzi-puts up the Fallon stalking her for hours.
Sampson-everything he does is cute!!
Scooby-he carries his "babies" with him everywhere
Natala-will attack on command(Ok she doesn't really attack but if I point to someone and say get him she'll run up and mouth their legs)

Tour of the UK, perhaps with a side trip to France and Spain.

Ideally, I would give my mother my life. She did so much more with her time than I probably ever will, she was taken way too soon.

I'm with you Christy - forensic psychologist with the Investigation Support Unit of the FBI, aka Profiler. Actually any of the forensic sciences except pathology or entymology.

7. What was your most embarassing moment? (That you are willing to share anyway!)

When we were younger, Dad joked around the name of his favorite wine, Gewürztraminer, so we could remember the name. We went out to a real fancy restaurant with my grandparents and I recognized the name of the wine on their Wine List Board and yelled out, as only a 6 year old can, "Look Dad, they have 'goat's in the cow manure!'" He shot me that Dad look and I knew right then that was supposed to be an In The House joke. My grandpa just about wet his pants from laughing so hard, though.

8. How are you like your parents?

I have Dad's stubborn streak, as well as his politics. I have Mom's being giving to a fault, and her organization. I got my competitiveness from both of them.(Oh, yeah, and Dad's asthma and Mom's difficulty maintaining a good weight.)

9. If you had to evacuate your home what would you bring with you?

Of course, the kitties and their stuff comes first. Then the little box of keepsakes from my Grandmother, my parent's box of photos (I don't know how I have all of their photos, but I do), My computer (it sounds shallow, but all of my pictures from the past 3 years are on the hard drive), important papers.

10. What is the most endearing quality about your cat(s) (and/or dogs.)

Trent likes to be held like a baby when we snuggle, and has to be as close as possible. He likes giving kisses, where he holds his mouth up to my lips and even closes his eyes (no sniffing, just kisses

). He will also walk right in front of us then plop and wiggle when he needs petted. Ophelia has the biggest purr from such a little thing. She can't sit still when she's getting petted, she has to prance around. She is black and white, and one of her markings is a heart on the underside of her chin

I would love to go to Carnival in Rio! It looks like so much fun.

I was giving a presentation in English class that I quickly put together. Some of my references used ibid as the author. Unknowingly, I thought Ibid was a greek writer of some kind. As I gave my presentation and mentioned the author ibid the professor started laughing and explained to me what ibid actually meant. I felt so stupid.

I am nothing like my parents.

9. If you had to evacuate your home what would you bring with you?
My animals everything else is replaceable.

Ethl is the best dog in the world. She will do anything to please me.
Lucy is a grouch, but when she decides she wants affection it is really sweet.
Cosmo sleeps in the bathroom sink while I shower. It is very cute.

When I was about 16 I was at a pub with some friends, trying desperately to impress one of my guy friends who I had a major crush on... for some strange reason, after a few drinks, (yes alcohol at 16 :LOL: ) I thought it would be a good idea to dance on a wall... naturally I ended up falling off.... but I also broke my ankle in the process, this guy had to help me to my sisters car while my ankle blew up like a balloon and my mascara streamed down my face as I was balling my eyes out..... nice.

8. How are you like your parents? I'm very laid back like my Dad, with his weird sense of humour, I look like my Mum and have her artistic streak.

I tend to block those memories. One my parents keep rem,inding me about was when I was about 7 years old. We were at friends of the family for dinner, and the host jokingly asked me if I wanted white wine for dinner. Supposedly I said quite haughtily - I am sorry, but I only drink red wine! Everyone died of laughter and I still get to hear the story every time our families get together.

I have my father's stubbornness and my mother's love of shopping.

5. If you could give one person one thing, what would it be? I would give my hard-working husband early retirement.

I am constantly amazed at their compassion, their understanding of all we say, their intuitiveness, how they communicate their desires to us, and the ways they show us love.

Usually the last one I've read. I'm currently reading "Spotted Dick, s'il vous plait." It's about a guy who opened a restaurant featuring English cusine in France.

I'd like to go to Wales and see where my ancestors came from.

Looking for my ringing mobile phone whilst surrounded by my male colleagues at a conference, pulling it out of my handbag, and sending a tampon flying out onto the floor. Even more embarassing was one of my colleagues not noticing what it was, picking it up and handed it back to me (omigod!!)

Dad's colouring and temparament, Mum's tenacity and protectiveness

Cats. Husband. All our old family pictures which are framed in our hallway. Contact lens solution. Houseplants. Make up.

How long have you got:
Balie's smallness, vulnerability and cute teddy-bearness yet his belligerance (but not aggression) towards other cats
Fifi's gazing - she sits on the floor and just stares at my husband as if she is besottted by him. Also when she jumps onto the bed in the middle of the night, and puts her head onto my pillow next to me
Ferdy - well I don't know Ferdy very well yet, as he's a recent addition. But he is already demostrating perfect manners and patience considering he's a stray.
