Eli asked me last night... and I was really surprised. He invited me out for dinner telling me it was my "graduation dinner" and arranged with the guy I work with to be done early. It was one of those occasions that you might expect to be asked because it was the right situation, but because it IS so obvious you probably won't be, but because you think you won't be asked... there's the possibility you will (does that even make sense?)

Anyway, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him!

I took a pic of the ring, but I can't download it off the camera! It's a white sapphire set in a white gold tiffany band though! (I love it and didn't want a diamond cause of all the nasty stuff involved)

Everything is kind of surreal!

We've been together for 2 1/2 years.
It's kinda a crazy story how we met... Eli was living with the sister (platonically *laugh*) of one of the girls that I went to highschool with and she was dating one of my close friends. Eli actually starting talking to me cause he was trying to convince me to date my other close friend (who was attending school with the other close friend who was dating the sister of Eli's roommate)... Our first "date" was when he dropped by my dorm to meet me on his way back to Butte (where he went to school and where we'll be going back for a year) to Hoagie Ville cause I'd never had their cheese fries. The funny thing is, I don't like them at all... *laugh*

No, it's not too soon!
We're thinking about June 23, 2007. It's the half year anniversary of when he formally asked me out (Christmas Eve) and it's also really close to summer solstice. We're not entirely sure about location yet. We don't know if we want a really big wedding, or a smaller wedding (I'd love to have Contra Dancing... and you need more space and people!). There's a few places in Missoula that we are looking at and a park in Butte that is really beautiful (although Butte's not *laugh*). I'd seen some really beautiful places in Washington when I was there last summer... but that would definitely be smaller. Although, I've always thought it would be very cool to be married in a Butterfly Garden!
