Momof3, I disagree. They look to me like contractions...particularly based on her breathing, and the "rippling" effect you see down her back occassionally. Of course, I may be trying to see things that aren't there, but I can't help it! I'm just so darn eager for kittens!

Looked like contractions to me. you could see her "fur" ripple when her paws flexed.............. I say she is in labor.

KittyCity and Newfostermom - did you download the Flash player? If yes, I'm going to get you some additional instructions. Do you have Windows and upgrade it regularly?

Glad I'm not the only one who saw contractions. Poor little lamb...she looks absolutely enormous. Momof3, I'm telling you stuff you already know, but I would be ready for ANYTHING tonight. With as many kittens as she seems to be carrying, they will probably be fighting in there over who will enter the birth canal first...kittens do get stuck, and that means trouble. Be prepared to whisk her to an overnight vet ER at the first signs of a problem of struggle...delivering this large of a litter will probably not be a picnic for poor Skittles. Do you have any arrangements with your mother in case you have to go in so she can watch your children overnight, if that's necessary? Just trying to help you get all of your bases covered. Maybe now is the time to shred the newspapers for her nesting box or get out some clean towels and blankies for her. Do you have a birthing kit prepared and handy, if she needs your help?

That is what Sponge did when she was having a contraction for the first hour or so and then after that she would try to squat and would be pushing really hard. her breathing also looks fast. I'm no expert but it sure does look like she is in labor but thats only going by how Sponge was when she was in labor. I sure hope she has them soon. She is so big. I feel so sorry for her. Sponge wasnt half as big as her and she was miserable, i can only imagine how poor Skittles feels. Think about how we all felt at 9 months pregnant. UGH! Gotta be harder on Skittles since she has so many babies kicking around in her.

I think it's happening! Ethel rippled like that but hers picked up really quickly and she would kind of shutter.

Try and rest and keep breathing!

I am desperate so I am making another box to see if she will use it. I put this next to my bed. The newspaper do I shred it or do I just lay it in there for her...

Sounds like you're ready to go!

I agree with Nikki...you should try to rest since active labor doesn't seem to be happening right at this moment. Can you grab a nap? Lord knows you'll need it if this turns into an overnight kitten-fest!

This is like 4 nights of little sleep so nothing new. I will get a few min naps here and there. No worry.
