Update on SKittles

Hmmm - I think I could be leaping out of bed to check at 3 AM! I really don't know how you are bearing up so well and sound so sane. I would be hysterical by now!

I have him on speed dial I might give him a call in a few Just to put me at ease...

Sponge would stop pushing when my kids came into the room. She didnt want them around at all while in labor.

I don't want to get gross sounding but when I look at her area now where the kits come out I see little pink skin usually it is all black. I can see the slit. Gosh I hope am not being to graphic. Usually I do not see anything and it is puffy on the sides I think a little.

They are all at grandmas now I am here for a few... Not sure if I want to leave but I think I need to. Might put her at ease...

When my cat had hers she was in labor(early stage) for about day and a half(stopped eating around 12pm the day before) and then just acted so friendly to me...then 8 pm the next night i saw the mucos plug come out and 2 hours later she pushed-up till 15 minutes before the first one came out i saw no pushing or panting. just startedfeeling contractions and out poped kittens..lol well she did only have 5... i had her in a cage in attic(I didn't want her to deliver in my rest of house due to I can't close off the house with my other cats. I kept thinking come on she can't go another night without having them...but she ended up fooling me 2 weeks straight.

If she goes a few more days I think that would be bad... SHe has a vet call tommorrow am not sure if I have to bring her in yet...

I don't think you'll have to worry about that, momof3. It seems to be time. Just call the vet, and see what he says, if you're not sure. And if she hasn't gone into labor by tomorrow, I would request that he see her in person.

I'm so thrilled! This time I think it's the moment we've all been waiting for!

Called to page Dr Clark just waiting to hear back now....

I would give her more time before taking her into the vet. taking her in may just put even more stress on her. If he didnt see anything wrong the other day i'm sure all is fine. She is just taking her precious time having them. LOL

the first day i didnt mess with Sponge at all is the day she had them. She caught me completely off guard. LOL that may be what Skittles is going to do too. LOL

Is this the same vet that is single and cute??? If so ask him if he makes housecalls. Then be cooking a nice dinner when he shows up...........LOL

OMG my mom said almost the same thing LOL... Yes he will if he has to but he does live further then the vet office so it is easier to take her there...

Definitely!!!

She seems to be sleeping really well right now and she ate 3oz of food...

Yeah, I might not take her in at this exact moment...I'd leave her be. But by tomorrow at this time if nothing has happened, then I'd probably bring her in, or sooner if something seems to be going wrong.

I can't wait to see what Dr. Clark says...

I don't know how you can stand all of this waiting, momof3! I would have pulled all of my hair out by now....

Ok I talk to Dr Clark and he said it can still be a while because she has not had mucus plug that I saw... He asked me to look in the litter box it is clean... He said she is cleaning her system out which is a excellent sign.. She could still have 24 hours to go. I am to call him back at noon tomorrow. He figured then if anything we can induce as long as I am willing too. I told him I think I want to hold off. He said good choice... Check her temp when in doubt or just take her to the Vet in Brigham if I am just uncomfortable. He said her purring was good. Just to watch for pain....

Yeah, and there will be more waiting to come. Just the idea that there are 9 kittens...1-2 kittens an hour. We're looking at anywhere from a 5-9 hour labor, possibly. I will have run out of mac-n-cheese by then. And I will need to brew mass quantities of very black coffee!!!! And set up a porto-potty by the computer...I've already taken my bath for the day, so that's out of the way. Hmmm...all these preparations, just so I can stay with the Skittles thread!
