Hey, don't let it freak you out! I actually found it to be rather hopeful...so MANY of those kittens on that list lived! I found the mortality rate in those litters to be promising, really. Stay positive! Chances are, since Skittles only has 8 nipples, and she has a bazillion kittens, she very well could divide the litter into groups, and do a feeding rotation. Or, while 6 or 8 are nursing, you could be filling the other's tummies with KMR. Once they are done, they can latch onto the teats for that colostrum that is so crucial. Just some things to think about. Either way, you'll figure something out quickly. Maybe you should spend some time right now (if your leggy/footy can take it) preparing some rice socks for extra kitty warmth. If you can't do it, perhaps it would be a neat little project for the kiddos tonight.
Do you know how to help a momma with a breech birth? The feet will obviously come first, and once you see the feet/legs, grab them gently, and tug a bit when a contraction comes on to expel the kitten from the birth canal. Just trying to cover all the bases!
I didn't know any of this stuff, until Skittles!!! She's made me brush up on my research skills, I'll tell you.
